If you look into the Android 4.0 software and HTC hasn't disabled it you can name the phone and it will wake up when it hears it's name and there is an app that will open the messaging on voice command and send that text for you .

Go to the droid market and download Gas Buddy, tells you where the cheapest gas is via GPS. We use it all the time. Free app.

the app is Vlingo. When I have on my full face w/ Bluetooth headset, I can say "hey <name> text <contact name> message <message>" it'll compose it and read it back to me then I just say send. I can also tell it to call, reserve movie tickets, find restaurants.... it's a pretty impressive list of things you can tell it to do... all without touching a thing.

You can't rename your phone with it but you can change the greeting so that it greets you personally. Turn the app on,Hit the menu button and go to settings, from there you can customize it to suit your desires.
