Re:What Tires To Buy? 7 Years, 7 Months ago
I just bought mine from the motorcycleproshop.com. They had the best prices of everyone that I checked. I had ordered a tire from them last year and liked the way they handled everything also.

Just got mine from the motorcycle pro shop. Ordered online and received in about 7 days. I mounted my own tires. You just have to remember to look for the yellow dots on new tires and aline with valve stem. Went with 160 rear and had to order new tube. Total price including shiping was around 252.00.

I have been running Metzler's ME880 series for quite a while now. I think they come WWW too, but I run the solid blacks.

They improve the handling in a real nice way. I noticed a very nice difference on both bikes, one of which still had good tread on it.

The bike just seemed lighter somehow. It was like riding a smaller and more manuverable bike.

I just installed the WWW Metzelers and love them. My mechanic highly recommended them and hasn't steered me wrong yet. Those factory tires didn't last 7,000 miles before turning into 'maypops' and I attribute a very large part on my post-Thanksgiving laydown on them (combined with a slick painted crosswalk). Thank God I was only doing about 20mph ... and for 'engine guards' and saddlebags which took the brunt of the damage. Now I feel much more secure riding the streets of Manhattan with the Metzelers under me. (It's just too cold right now.)

You're a brave man if you ride two wheels in Manhattan. I play bumper cars with the cabs in a car, can't imagine on a bike.

All in all guys....if you are going to replace your rear tire, at least do one hell of a burn show while someone is taking a picture of you doing it. I did that last August. I still need to post that picture. But when I was at a local bar, almost the whole bar came out to watch.....everybody loves a good burn out. here is that picture.

I try to stay away from Times Square most of the time, but that doesn't mean that those yellow demons don't leak anywhere else. That's what's more dangerous than the drivers ... anti-freeze and oil slicks!

Looks alright to me.

With the HP/TP you have I imagine it wasn't hard to get that back wheel to spin.
