Drill the Stock Exhaust (stage 1 5 Years, 6 Months ago
This thread discusses the Content article: Drill the Stock Exhaust (stage 1

New to this site. I have an 06 Silverado and completed stage one. Sounds better than it did. Want to go to stage three but would like to know what the best jetting kit for this application would be.

You don't always need to rejet for Stage 3. Most of the time you can just adjsut the PMS and you'll be OK.

If you want to be on the safe side you can pick up a jet kit. You will need it later anyways when you buy an aftermaket air cleaner.

Thanks for the feedback. I do plan on getting an aftermarket air cleaner.

Doc, I have often seen the suggestion of just an adjustment of the PMS for a change of pipes from stock to a freeer breathing exhaust setup. Would it most often need to be richened or leaned out?

The pipes will make the bike run leaner,,,,,,,,, so you must richen it up a bit, turn the PMS out a little 1/4 turn should be good. Btw...... New England here too(Boston), nice to meet ya NewEnglandRider

Post edited by: RoNNiE, at: 2006/11/15 21:58

That sounds logical RoNNie. Yes I ride all over New England but tend to stay away from the cities. Boston is almost two hours away. Late this year I signed up with NorthEast Starriders so maybe next year I will be riding more in central and eastern Ma.

I'll throw my 2 cents in. I would ride it first before you adjust anything. There's nothing saying you aren't a little rich right now and the pipes will help lean it out a little. No two bikes are set up the same. You have to adjust acording to how your's is.
