Wheel upgrade for 02 Roadstar 3 Years, 8 Months ago
I have an 02 Roadstar and would like to install a later model Roadstar wheel. Several reasons for the the desire to change, the main reason would be to get a tubeless set-up not to mention to get away from the less than desirable poorly plated spokes. Any ideas on how difficult that would be? I'm curious if I could still use the present brake set-up or would I need to change the calipers & rotors as well. What about spacers, axles etc. Something tells me this project will take lots of planning and trips to the cycle salvage before I start.

I sold my old 05 cast wheels and I think he had to get some spacers and he also had to use his old OEM pully instead of the one that was on the wheels. It can be done and I am sure some one who has done it will help you out.

Ultra:

I've got a set coming from Reza (CycleImage) right now. Do you have a couple of photos of the stock cast wheels in chrome that you could share?

Thanks,

Rich

I appreciate that. They look great. He's done all of my chrome work over the past couple of months (entire front suspension, rear suspension, brakes, brackets, engine covers, etc.). It's all been nice work. I look forward to getting the wheels next week.

Thanks, again.

Rich if you ordered the polished rotors be real careful for the first hundred miles or so cause buddy they don't stop real good till the get a little roughed up.
By the way your bike looks great now look out when you get the new rims on

I was wondering if the polished rotors would pose that problem now I know. I was thinking about polishing mine when I put me wheels on and decided not to just for that reason. SLUGUY these are Performance Machine wheels and pully that I have.
