oil pressure gauge install correction 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Good evening all, just finished up on installing a oil pressure gauge on an 05 roadstar 1700, followed article from the forum, great article and help a great deal. My only comment on the article that I beleave should be corrected is in regards to the installtion of the banjo bolt and fitting on the oil gallery. After researching and discussing this with mechanics there is no way a 8mm banjo bolt should be used with a 10mm banjo fitting. To much room for error and pressure leaks. The conclusion we came up with and works great is to drill out the original 8mm thread hole in oil gallery and tap in a 10mm thread to except the 10 mm banjo bolt, no room for error unless you screw up tap. Good luck all.

I had same thought and used a proper fitting that went to a 2n fitting. I think I have the last three on the planet. They came from a helpful company in Canada had to buy four bit price.
