AIS removal from 2006 RS 3 Years, 1 Month ago
I have read the threads on AIS and it seems the instructions refer to 99-03 years. I have an 06, 1700 and wondered if the procedure for removal is any different. Any ideas? Thanks.

Look in the Tech Articles. Below the 99 -03 is the 04 directions. It's the same for an 06.

How about on a '08 with EFI? I'm thinking there shouldn't be much difference in the AIS systems between '07 and '08.

Help for non-mechanical rider...when you talk about plugging the AIS, you plug the vacuum tube off the top of the pump, but do you also plug the two tubes running to the front and back cylinder?

Try this Link .There are some very good pics & instructions as to what to remove & what & where to plug when removing the AIS. The vacuum connection, btw, is on top of the intake.

You don't plug these tubes on an 06, you completely remove them and install a plate that plugs the hole on each jug.
