I heard the motor spin back since day one right off the show room floor? And i know with the stock jetting and pipes it's not too lean..

Just wondering, when you say you hear the motor spin after you shut it down are you talking about the starter gears spinning? Thats what I hear with mine sinse I baught it. Sometimes it is very short in duration (a couple of seconds) and sometimes it's a little longer, bugs the hell out of me though.

I ride below 32 and don't really have any problems.

Usually I require full choke to start. As the temps decrease, I need to leave full choke on longer, but at freezing it may be on for only a minute max. I usually take off within a minute with half choke. The bike will not respond to hard throttle inputs at this time, especially the colder it gets.

At 70, half choke is off within a mile'; at freezing it take about 2 miles.

If you idle is set too low you'll have even more problems the colder it gets. Proper idle is an evenly running motor.

Holy cow, I was wondering why we were seeing a post about "cold weather problems" at this time of the year.....then I see you are from northern Wisconsin. Having grown up in the neck of the woods, I fully understand it can be cool/cold up there at night regardless of the time of year.

ok so the temp was 80 here in northern wisconsin, went for a ride thinking this should prove one way or the other. i think it actualy got worse so now i am looking at the coil. going to swop the wires side to side and see if the other side fouls. looked at the coils and wraped the one in question but i dont see any damage or arcing.

as soon as it wormed up 3 miles or so it coughed and spuderd. i limped it home. it cleared for a bit and dropped out. i think its gotta be a coil. now both plugs seem to be fowling. may be a bad wire? but i dont see any sign of arcing?

I would try a shock treatment with some seafoam first, It might save you the cost of new coils. could be you have a build up of carbon on the valves which would cause it to run bad..
