oil pump feed to lifters 1 Year ago
recently heard of a couple of bikes loosing oil to lifters (shaft in right side cam cover ?) result was wrecked lifters and cams. anyone heard of similar fault ? tried a few dealers here in uk but no reports of any such failings

I've only heard of one in 6yrs since being on various forums. Was due to a Fram oil filter. Filter element came apart and clogged the oil screen preventing oil to circulate. Lifters and cams wiped.

Earlier 1600 have had a shaft on the oil pump gear sheer. I believe it is a tech article on it. I think most people changed them with the tranny recall.

Did you forget about YammyTommy (or whatever his name was) on RSR that had his "reusable" filter let go as well? Same thing, scrammed Lifters and Cams.
