I was all ready to drop my bike too but then got to looking at how the roadie bags are mounted...is it possible to lower the bike 1 1/2" with the bags mounted as they come? It doesn't look possible...maybe an east bracket instead?
I wouldn't have dumped this question but it seems that the original question has been answered...
thanks.

Gram, what kind of seat and bars(Look like black Y-bars?) do you have on your bike? And did you dehorn it or is it that the custom seat gives you a lower riding position?
Looks great.
Thanks,

The bars are custom made, the hand/arm position is real close to stock silverado bars (which works for me). They just have a little more attitude
The seat is an original Looney seat from when Looney was still making them. The bike has not been dehorned. There is a new company making Looney seats now and they do a great job. You might also want to look into the company dragger seats. If I did it all over again would look seriously into theirs. The seat is lower than stock. Looney used to tell folks to take off their seats, put a folded towel on the battery, then sit on the bike. Thats pretty close to where this seat puts you.
Long rides on this seat are difficult for me. Causes lower back pain from getting my lower back pushed into the seat socket (aggravates an old injury). I'm out of lower leg feeling by about three or four hours. The new manufacturer is using thicker seat pans (less flex - seat socket should not be as easy to feel) so that may not be a problem anymore. I think Musky has the new model, might want to ask him how it is for long rides.

You don't. The flip is reversing the relay arm. Alternatively you can buy custom extended dogbones, and leave the relay arm intact. The geometry for the suspension is better with the dogbones (so rides better). The flip (relay arm) is a no cost option.

Flipping the dogbone is not difficult. The instructions in the tech tips are well written.
I did the flip with mine. I am 6'1", about 220, and I don't have trouble with bottoming out. I don't ride really aggressively either though. Now with the better half along (and she's only about 120lbs), I have issues with bottoming. If she rode more often I would be looking into another spring.
Good luck with it! If you aren't sure, I would try it, you can always go back to stock.
