I just did the mod yesterday. This was really easy once I figured out I needed to move the swingarm up a bit to get out the long middle bolt. Also, it was much easier to reinstall with the shock lifted and tied to the frame above to keep it out of the way with a few zip ties. This is a great mod and really makes the bike look a lot better. Also, I went to Harbour freight and bought a bench grinder on sale for $40 and a stand on sale for $16. Now I can also use the bench grinder on one side with a polishing pad to polish the parts I have been wanting to bling out. I plan to do the forks first. I did this on a suzuki 1400 intruder years ago and found that a good spray paint stripper works great to remove the clear coat before you start to polish. Then, you don't have to waist so much time sanding.
