I don't know how cold the gum stuff gets but you could try a can of compressed air. Turn it upside down and it sprays liquid Carbon dioxide. -109 degrees F. Some people get a piece of wood and a hammer and go from one side to the other smacking it to get it rocking and loosened up.

You could also get a pair of vise grips with a slideing hammer on the adjustment end for rent at an auto parts store.

Ok, guys, got the elbows out, now what is the best way to put in the plugs, do i just tap them in gently or what, do they go in easy or hard???

Follow the directions in the AIS article. It tells you how to do it.

Made my own dowel and hammered them out from the right side of the bike.

Big pain in the ass on my bike. I broke an elbow off right at the head. Any idea how to get it out? Drill it? I haven't gotten either side out, broke both elbows, and broke one off right at the head. Hammering from the back side, vice grips, WD40, freeze spray, nothing has worked. I can spin them barely but thats about it.
