Stupid question. New to actually working on my own bike. What it any benifits are their to removing AIS from bike. I have an 03 Roady 1600. I seen alot of talk on the subject, not really sure what to do. Is it something to do to fix a an issue?

I didn't even thing about doing it that way. I just bought the kit and chucked the AIS. No trouble with it though.

All it does is add air into the exhaust. It doesn't really help with performance but it DID eliminate back fires when getting off the throttle. Oh and it looks cooler now!

Just a follow up. Go with the complete removal. I did it last weekend. 3 beers and a skinned knuckle, it was worth the time and effort. The front of the bike has a nice clean look.

Re:04 Road Star AIS Removal 4 Weeks, 1 Day ago
I feel there is the added benefit of increased airflow around and through the engine area and most significantly keeping that carb cooler to prevent gas boil on those friggin superhot days. Removing that garbage just gotta help that.
