Whew, I just spent an hour or more reading, what a tremendous amount of info.. Thanks for the links, I see you were involved in the newer post, sounds like you really didn't feel that it helped you too much, but some of the other folks thought it helped quite a bit, but they also were running HC pistons which would be more sensitive to knocking I believe..I like yourself, am stock except for the HSR45, speedstar mani, and speedstar ign..in any case, thanks for the info..

Went out and tried it out today,,as fellow riders have said, it is not a dramatic difference in performance, but it is noticeable..lighter throttle changes have more reaction..If it buys me a mile or two per gallon I figure it's worth it..

I ran it for a while without the voes, she ran fine,,several folks have run them without and I have not heard of anything bad happening, The voes does help at idle and light throttle changes, and seems like a little more torque down low....without the voes, your spark advance is at WOT setting all the time..Ive had the voes about 3-4 months now and have had no problems..course I didnt ride too much in the winter,,
I really like the flatslide carb..It has a wonderful response, but if you need to pass emissions, it may not work for you..The cv carb is more emissions friendly from all that I have read..

roadstarco, The only way I know of to make the check engine light go out, is to replace the stock ignition module with a speedstar or a dynajet 3000. the stock module does not recognize the voes, as it is designed to work with the tps only..
