Mark Cole's $100 Passing Lamps 6 Months ago
This thread discusses the Content article: Mark Cole's $100 Passing Lamps

Quick question Mark. Whats the power draw for these lights? Got an 03' with stock electrics and plan on adding a few minor show and go's soon. I need to keep the drain on the electrical system within reason for now. halogen's I've looked at draw 55 watts per light if I remember correctly. Thanks.

Now you're getting more technical and I'm over my head there. I've got a multi-meter but don't have a clue as to how to measure the draw to these lights. If someone wants to give me a tech article on how to do that I'll work on an answer for this.

If I had to guess I'd say they draw no more than what the Yamaha light set up would draw, but that's just a guess.

Standard halogen headlight is 55 watts. Thinking it shouldn't be a problem unless I light the bejeebers out of it. Thanks Mark7.

the stock passing lamp bulbs H3 are 35 watts most aftermarket H3 are 55 watts...avoid these...kury,cruiser customizing etc have the 35 watts...35 watts are in the adzure/kury tribars....

The stock passing lamp sealed beams draw 30 watts each 4449

yer amber sealed beam 4415A 35 watts each ..which I think is what you have Mark7..

yer headlight 60/55

So I'm wanting to keep the wattage at or below 35? Hooked up with a guy this morning who's got an 02'. He put a separate line with a transistorized relay with glass fuses setup under the seat for his driving and trailer lights. At least I've got a good idea on the wiring now.
