Houston, Tx to Havelock, NC 5 Months ago
In the continuing saga about will our Roadies hold up. I certainly believe it! I took my 07 Road Star from Houston,Tx all the way to Havelock NC for the fourth of July week to visit my daughter who is in the Marine Corp stationed at Cherry Point Air Station. Going thru Louisiana, Mississippi, then resting for awhile in Piedmont, Alabama. I went thru Georgia, South Carolina then of course North Carolina. AND BACK!!! Not one ounce of electrical and or mechanical problems what so ever. Scarlet (the name of my bike because that is the best color for a bike.... RED! right DOC? ) She just purred and purred the whole way. If there be any doubt as to these 1600/1700 engines being able to take it.... there shouldn't be. The heat was a killer and yes I hit two very hard storms on the way back, one around 2:00 pm just east of Atlanta and again just before 5:00 in Birmingham. The Pro R Hypercharger did NOT falter.

wow! Kuddos to you for sure! I trailered my bike from Houston to Asheville NC where we started our vacation. We stayed there w/ relatives for several days then I rode from Asheville to Wilmington NC where we're here now (actually Holden Beach) for another week or so. Bike has been running fine but I've developed a squeak that I'm chasing down. You sure have me beat for a long dist road trip though. I would have done just the bike but I've got the family w/ me and my wife wouldn't drive that whole way by herself.

My bad Mark7, I'll remember next time, and there will be a next time. I loved the ride and the visit. BTW, Georgia is a beautiful state, a blessing to the Union.

I live 20 minutes away from Cherry Point, in Beaufort. Good luck to your buddy, around here we call the Harriers "Carolina Lawn Darts."

Once you have these beasts running well they'll run forever.

Good to hear the trip went well ... I'm going to have to get down there some day as those are the some of the only states I've yet to visit.
