Looking for "V102" air filter kit 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
I am trying to find a kit with the K&N filter and the billet V102 on the cover. Any suggestions on the best place to find one for the best price?? Would also be interested in a used one if someone has used one and gone a different route.

Do I need to rejet, as I have a V&H longshots exhaust, and the bike has been jetted for that.

Sorry for the noob questions but really like the look, and hoping to gain a little performance.

Barons has the "102" cover for $120 for the cover only or $300 for a kit including a K&N filter, hardware, and jet kit.

www.phatperformanceparts has it for around $264.00 with free shipping. I think they carry the covers alone also but not sure.

Thanks for the info. Yes I am pretty much in Sioux City. I see you are in Essex. Whereabouts is that.

Back to topic, do I need to rejet it, as I would have no clue how to do that.

One other question. I pulled up the link and it says for 99-04. Mine is an 06. I assume they are the same part number but want to make sure.

It is the same.. Called myself when I was ordering for my 06. Just follow guidelines for the 04 since they are same. Installed mine a few weeks back and fine tuning things up. Pretty straight forward even for me LOL.

Re:Looking for "V102" air filter kit 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
More than likely will have to rejet and kit comes with jets and barons needle. You will want to use the recommended jet, set needle on 5th clip, then go out and do the WOT test to see how your main is running. It is pretty straight forward as I stated you just dive in and take your time. Nothing real hard about it even for me who does not like messing with carbs.

The instructions like you said will not have the 06 listed but Barons said to use the 04 directions as far as setting main and so on.

Love the looks and need to post a new pic when I get one taken.

Essex is down in the sw corner and north of Shenandoah about 15 miles from mo. border.

Re:Looking for "V102" air filter kit 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
hey there you all !
I just brought new air part number is SPD-5VN09-47-03 yesturday at the yamaha store. I got 20% discount due memeber of star touring club .
its a good price to buy it. the price is $169.95 . With discount is $135.95..
I have a question and hope someone chimes in to asnwer it!
In the thought in my mind to figure it out. I know their is a gain in performances in there..
the question to see about the gas milage between stock factory air cover VS open air cover?
between those two??
stock cover with stock setting does run better gas milage or aftermarket air filter with cover (like I brought it) need to have do jetting system work done and it helps pulls up good gas milage or it will get to poor gas milage??
hear from you then pal by Bill
