Leave it alone!!! 5 Years, 7 Months ago
If it's running good leave it alone. If it's running good leave it alone. If it's running good leave it alone!! As soon as I get done being P.O.d I'm going back down and put everything back where it was.

Why can't we learn to leave it alone?

It's an affliction Brother... I do it too. ALL THE TIME...

The RoadStar just SCREAMS to be tweaked. I was out riding today, and saw a R* parked out front of a house, turned around to talk to the owner. Told him about this wonderfull place but with a warning...Spend more time on the R* than the forum, or else you'll get the R* tweak syndrome...

Post edited by: JDoza, at: 2006/10/01 17:24

Got a question about something that is aparently escaping me (As usual ) Why doesn't Barons send their BAK with 1 extra clip and 1 extra washer insted of 2 extra clips?

OK, lets say I wanted to put 2 washers under the white spacer but I only have 2 washers. 1 above the clip and 1 below the spacer. I do have 2 extra clips thanks to Barons. Can the spring rest on a clip? If I put one of the extra clips in the groove above the working clip can the spring rest on it and would it mess anything up? It looks like it would be OK but.....

I know Radio shack supposedly has them but I never seem to find anything someone else says they have so I gave up going there.

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2006/10/01 22:40

Yup. That's what I did. Bike is running like crap. If I had a second washer I would have put it in to have a 3 1/2. But now I'm thinking that if I have to split hairs like that because it's so close to the border of good / no good then I'll just go back to the 4th groove.

Above the clip you can use anything that fits. The washer is not critical and is just used so the spring sits on something even and 'solid'.

Below the clip there are various thickness of washers that you can buy; they are colour coded (silver, purple gold).

You'll be surprised on how much a difference they make when you are "close to the border". As the needle is not a biggie in terms of 'playing' .... go for it.

As for the extra clip ..... you'll be glad you have it when you're changing the clip position and the sucker springs out of your grasp.

Oh no, Uh uh, Ain't going there!

I always clamp a 10 inch vice grips on to the clip before I move it so if I do drop it it's easy to find.

OOPS! You didn't get the memo! Doc should have sent that out to all members. If this has caused you any problems please don't hesitate to take them up with him.
