new injectors.. better mileage 2 Months, 1 Week ago
My 2008 now has 2012 injectors. I put on 510 miles today. Probably about 2/3 at 65 to 70 (70-75 on my speedo) and the rest on forest roads in 3rd and 4th gear. My 3 fill ups netted 46mpg. I was lucky to get 40 before. I will continue to check mileage to confirm, but today's result are astounding.

Were fuel additives ever used over the life of the first set of injectors?

Part number for all years is 5VN-13761-00-00. Around a 100 bucks each from the parts houses that popped up when I Googled it.

Thanks for the part number. I wonder if the part number is the same for all years of FI's.

I'd be curious if additives were used also.

The reason I have new injectors is because the bike wouldn't start but had spark. I messed around with it for a couple week and finally took it to a dealer. They said I needed new injectors and they are back ordered from Japan and not available until AUG. 23. I found a set of Injectors from Bike Strippers from a 2012 with 40000 miles on it. Yes, I use Seafoam every 3rd or 4th tank.

Keep talking, my 09 was right around 26mpg before I opened it up. Went to N.C. and got up to around 40mpg.
I don't know if this is the bike or just the 5 gallon tank that makes me think I'm not getting the mileage I should.
What about the use of additives? I don't run them in the bike.

Re:new injectors.. better mileage 2 Months, 1 Week ago
I was getting low to mid 30's MPG until i changed plugs, cleaned my K&N air filter and then i cleaned my injectors with seafoam injector cleaner. Boy did she smoke then, but after she was put back together started getting low to mid 40's MPG as long as i didnt twist the right hand much. Sure made our road trips better as we weren't so worried about where the next gas station with real gas was. I run seafoam ever third tank dont know what the PO did my bike had 19000 when i bought it.
