HELP Dam starter Spin AGAIN!!!!!!!!! 3 Years, 5 Months ago
In 2011 I took the roadie 2003 silver into the cycle shop
It would not start
The flywheel bolt was loose causing the flywheel to spin
They Locktited the flywheel and no problems up until today
I rode yesterday and had 1 Backfire through the carb
it started today but now I was trying to move it into the garage
and its making this sound
I think its doing it again
is this the sound
Thoughts????

Starter sounded fine to me.

That backfire probably spun the shaft backwards hard enough to loosen the bolt (again).

As mentioned, the starter sounded fine. The 'starter spin' problem is on the other side where the stator rotor resides.

Easy to do. I had to do mine a couple of years ago "in the field" in Kingston, ON - my starter spin happened just as I started the bike to get onto the ferry that leaves Wolfe Island for the USA.

I'm glad it happened prior to crossing the border. Managed to get the bike back to the mainland (at 11 PM! ouch), slept at my sister's place in Kingston with the bike parked at a Tim Horton's near the ferry - then woke up the next day early, went to Canadian Tire, bought all the tools I needed (based on the instructions on the site) and did it right in the parking lot on a 34 degree C day - took a couple of hours, but if I had to do it again it would go MUCH quicker.

Where in Toronto are you?
