Am I missing the new fad? 3 Years, 10 Months ago

I've seen three different bikes like this in the last couple of weeks... They have a 2.5 - 3.5 ft braided "whip" hanging off of the left handlebar controls or lever. No, it's not the old fashioned lever cover with the long tassles but an actual 3/8" - 1/2" thick braid of leather that drags the ground on a turn and is blowing straight back to the sissy bar at speed.

By the way... if I'm missing it, it's on purpose.

I've had one for about two years and I love it. It flaps in the wind and gets other drivers attention. I have never used it to whip anybody yet, and don't intend to. It is old-school and is called a "GetBack Whip". Got mine on line, about $40. http://www.chilhowee.net/whips.html
