jetting for intake 1 Month, 1 Week ago  
just installed a yamaha open air filter kit

bike does not run past third throttle ive been looking around this site for jetting info on this mod but i only found exhaust mods everything on bike is stock except air filter i purchased a dyno jet kit put just not sure what to do with this set up

just looking for somewhere to start thanks,

"Does not run past third throttle" means it does what?

You just replaced the filter .... did nothing else? If so replace the stock needle with the DJ needle and put the clip on the 4th slot from the blunt end (top). Change nothing else.

well what i meant by doesnt run was that it has now power it just boggs down if i pull choke out it will run but not ok

If you are saying you added a speedstar air box (the open one with the K&N filter), you will definitely have to do some jetting work to get it back to running correctly. BB

If it was me I would put the stock air box back on and leave the stock jetting in until you get a more open exhaust on. My op anywho.

I'm with Musky, don't just do an airbox change... open up that exhaust!

Then rejet!

yes it is the speedstar open air box i corrected the problem by changing the needle but as far as exhaust goes i had that dooly system that would not fit a couple weeks ago so im just waiting to order up something else but definitly getting an exhaust probly hk res-tec thanks for the info http://roadstarclinic.com/components/com_fireboard/template/rsc3/images/english/emoticons/smile.png
