Most times i cruise along at around 70 or 75... But sometimes kick it up a bit. A couple of years ago when going to sturgis and seeing things up that way we rode bear tooth pass that year yellowstone and what not. We rode 2300 miles in 5 days... I would say probably 1000 of them miles was running along about 90... Riding with a friend on a HD softtail and he liked running around 90 so we did the same and didnt have a problem. That was with me about 250. My GF on the back she is about 130.. and T bag full of stuff and saddle bags full...

My most enjoyable cruising speed is 60-65 mph. I don't care who passess me. I love the ease and grace of the Roadie loping along. Anyway, that's what works for me.
Find what works for you and forget about the rest.

I'll be of no help. I don't all that often even get out of third. Most of the time you'll find me on back country roads doin' no more than 40. I live up in the NE, and around here we don't talk about how many miles it is to anywhere, but rather how much time it takes to get there.
I don't have a windshield, and I don't ever want one.
I live in between Boston and Providence.
At the pace I travel, I see the sights, smell some incredible scents, and even with my Santees, I can still hear some sounds... but most of the time it's just the sweet music of my motor.
Tomorrow, I'm going to the national Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club meet and show in Marlboro... taking all back, colonial era roads to get there... it'll be nice hour and a half ride each way.
You gotta love it!

60-70 on the 2-lane. 75-85 on the Interstate unless it's been a long weekend, my butt's tired and I'm on the last leg home. Then it's closer to 90. And yeah, there's still some throttle left.

I have a tendency to move along alittle faster than I should. I'm 2o5lbs and run between 80 and 90 on the highway. Had a fulldresser rollin behind me on an entrance ramp, he came on strong so i just kept creapin her up little by little, he chased me for about 10 mi before he gave up. I have to say there is still more pull left after 90 and mine is still stock!....for now (o7 1700 - 1,300mi on the od). Any one put a stearing stabilizer on on of these bikes.....gets busy in dirty air above 80!
