They're kinda deep in there. I use a plug socket with a rubber sleeve for removal/insertion. See "Roadstar tank removal" in the tech section. Take the bolt out of the end of the tank by the seat. You'll have to take the seat off to get to it. Then pick up the the back of the tank and wiggle it back a little. Remone the seat and remove the cross bolt from the tank rear. Unclip the green plug at the rear of the tank for the fuel sensor. Hold the dash up and remove the tank vent line at the front of the tank under the dash. Take a bath towel and put it on the bars and lay the dash on the towel don't worry about undoing the wiring plugs going to the dash they will drive ya nuts. Last make SURE the gas petcock is turned OFF. Remove the fuel line from the petcock. Grasp the tank at the front by the neck and the rear lift the rear up and slide the tank back and off. Reverse eveything to put it back togeather. For the first time, you might want to print out the directions and make sure you follow all the steps. Curt's post had them all... didn't it?
