I have a tach and if I could keep it running at 2000 rpm on the freeway I'd be happy. Problem is you're only going 60 MPH. At 85 you're turning 3000, which is only 1750 rpm away from the limiter. Its not even working hard at that point. these engines are good past the rev limiter stage by another 1000 RPM. Seriously, at 3000 rpm, you are not hurting a thing. Slow down and enjoy the scenery. I'm thinking making a 6 speed to fit and work would be a spendy proposition. I think it would be one of those things everyone says they want. And at 85 I would like to lower my RPM's a little.
