It not so much as they all pass me on the HD but their bike just seem to be running smoother and not as high as a RPM I know the new ones have 6 speed but the older ones seem to be the same I have never rode a HD do they cruise easer at high speeds?

Re:Cruising speed 3 Years, 10 Months ago
I ride with a bunch of Harley riders with various vintages of engine. I have no trouble keeping up with them and even running past them. Every Roadie is a little different, mine has a resonate frequency at about indicated 78 mph (74 mph actual) that goes away at indicated 81 mph (77 actual), and is smooooooth at indicated 82 mph. It will cruise there all day long. I like that speed as that is pretty common here in Florida. I ride a lot in groups and we stick to the speed limit, and that is 65 to 70 mph. My scoot is smooth at those speeds altough running on the low end of 5th at 65.
I have a friend with Suzuki M109 and he can blow my windshield off, but he says that my scoot is plenty quick!!!
Other than the occassional Screamin Eagle 110 I have had no trouble keep with an HD. For smoothness find that spot that your Roadie is happy and you will be too.

Last year I went through the entire state of Nebraska and didn't go under 100mph no problem.

I dont cruise along too fast, 65-70 on interstate. I love it when the harleys go blowing by me and the cops have them pulled over a mile down the road. I usually toot the horn going by.I like knowing they couldnt pass me if i didnt want them to roadhog1

When I riding single I typically find myself surprised how fast I'm going...80-85 easy no strain. I try and stay at 75-80 if the traffic isn't passing me. I ride up interstate 5 going north past the grapevine...very straight and smooth and have grabbed all the throttle and pulled up to 105-110 really quick and there's plenty more.
