Part from my Road* or road debris? 4 Months, 1 Week ago
|
|
Guys I went for a short ride this evening after cleaning the bike and after getting home noticed this part under the air filter, sitting on top of the case. It had some oil/grease on it but I cannot seem to find out where/if it came off my bike. The only thing I have done recently is to change the stock air filter but it was about a week ago and when I washed the bike this afternoon it was not there. That's not to say it didn't fall there on the ride, but I wonder if it just got kicked up from the road. Anyone recognize this? Thanks.
Here are the links. Pulling my hair out trying to get the pics to attach.....

Its one of the parts out of your air box mounts, it pushs in the rubber, Chech the 3 mounts
Thats what it looks like to me.

I'm with Billjr.
Looks like one of the bolt spacers that goes in the rubber grommet mounts on the airbox.

I also agree that looks what looks like what goes into one of the rubber mounts for the air box... its to keep you from completely crushing the rubber.

They're right... it is.
One of the three rubber air box mounts will be missing a spacer.
You're a lucky one for not losing it

The piece that was sitting underneath my air filter was indeed one of the spacers. I guess it slipped out when I was replacing the filter. Where it was hiding and how it didn't fall off the bike for over a week is beyond me. I guess I'm lucky. Thanks for the help in identifying it(Soba,SOS, Quest). For those who haven't replaced their filters yet, pay close attention to the spacers on the three mounting screws.
Forgot Billjr, thanks.
