The R* saw nearly 110 thursday night, but let me tell you with apes and windshield its an evil ride.

Now on the other hand, my TL1000R and I have seen 184mph this year and that was no where close to max, just didnt have enough road. And if thats not stupid enough for you. how about this..... this is the 100mph wheelie. But sport bike is in my DNA, its my own fault.

Once I get to 90, i envision a blow out, or a bearing going or some knothead pulling out in front of me and that wouldn't end pretty so i back it down.

I've been to 113 on mine....clocked by my wife in the next lane over in her car. It was a weird ride....everything felt "floaty" like I wasn't getting any traction and almost like I was drifting side-to-side.

I cant see doing that again any time soon!

Does anyone know what CRUISER means?

A friend of mine on a honda spirit 1100 wanted to see if he could keep up. We took the bikes up to 96 mph. He did keep up, side by side, but I backed off. He had about reached his limit. I guess he could have made 105 to 110 or maybe even more), but I could have gone a lot faster. An 800 pound bike and my 200 lbs, (1000 lbs) would make an awful mess on anybody's highway when all I really wanted to do was ENJOY THE RIDE.

Just after I did my Stage 1, I wanted to hear the difference, so I went up on the highway with my GPS... I clocked 78 at the top of the on-ramp and found an empty pocket in the traffic and opened her up...
The stage 1 mod sounded great and GPS held a steady at 109 for a full half mile before I decided that I had enough and back down to a respectable 75.
But to get back to Rider4Christ's observation... about driving into a headwind... Me and my misses took a trip somewhere to our North West last March. Half way through the trip we were actually driving into a 40 MPH head wind (it was right out of the Northwest.) Well, during a passing manuver, I opened the throttle and after shifting down from fifth to fourth I pass a car at nearly 80... When I shifted back to fifth, I had trouble maintaining 85 for any distance...
