Exhaust choice 5 Years, 7 Months ago
Hi,

Thought I would tap the insight of the forum here for another decision about exhausts.

I am looking at two exhausts to put on my R*. I like the looks of these pipes and see that they are both equal in size 2.5" muffler.

1. Vance and Hines Longshots HS
= scallop slash cut ends "race inspired performance and traditional hot rod sound set this system apart from the crowd". about 450.00

2. Cobra Speedster Longs
= cobra boasts a PowerPort that delivers power increase like a 2 into 1 system. billet tips. about 450.00

Any preferences or history on these pipes that may make one more appealing over the other as far as performance orlasting quality?

Look forward to your thoughts.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mochastar,
I have the V&H longshots HS on my bike. 2005 blkchry, K&N speedstar air filter, jetted, AIS intact. I love the way these pipes sound. I get lots of compliments on the sound from other bike owners. And if you turn the idle down just a little you get a great lopeing idle sound. I've been told that it sound like I have a big cam in the motor. I aslo have throw over bags and they don't touch the pipes at all. The pipes have been on the bike for about 4000 miles and no blueing at all. They also have removable baffels. Just my 2 cents about these pipes. Hope it helps with you decide..........King

Mine are the Cobra Speedster Longs,,,,,billet tips,,,removable baffles and a crossover built in and pretty much invisible. They sound GREAT (not too loud at idle, but roll it on in 3rd or 4th ,,,,,,,,omfg ) ,,,, they make good power,,,,resonably priced and guaranteed no blueing,,,,,, Full heat shields ensure this fact. The powerport (crossover) works. Both are great pipes,,,,very similar. Shiny up ..... rubber down !
