Sounds like you thinkin higher Octane fuel is more explosive when the opposit is true.. maybe this will help

Actually my thinking is since a higher Octane fuel burns at a slower rate
and if I run alittle leaner it will counter effect the symptoms of being lean
(White plugs, burning hot)but not effect performance

What do you guys think A tank shouldn`t hurt and then I`ll check my plugs
to see what`s up

Post edited by: vegasdave, at: 2006/10/09 13:02

I guess I would ask, Why? Are you talking about changing your settings just to run gas you don't need to run? Or are you saying that if you are running lean that instead of correcting the settings you can just burn premium? Ya lost me here Vegas, I'm confused again.

Running leaner for more MPG`s.And I don`t know if I ever make sense.
But with out the harmful effects of running leaner.I`ve been through all the
adjustments you can go though with my DynoJet kit.I`m just kinda thinking out
loud.I`m rich at idle but seem to be lean running on the road.I always try to turn my bike off as to not get a false reading from the Idle Circuit.(PLUGS)
I understand with the DJ kit you give alittle at one end or the other,so I`ve
been thinking of getting a Baron`s kit to experiment. But my original thought is
if we adjust carb settings for fuel burn, why not throw the octane settings
verse adjustment in the mix savy

You know more about jetting than I do but if I had a kit that wouldn't let me get it right I'd be looking for a different kit. I suppose you could run a tank of premium through there while your riding around trying to find a Barons kit.

You can certainly try it. Won't hurt a thing. But I don't think that leaner is going to change the burn rate of the premium. It doesn't have the explosive power of regular.

With the usual disclaimer: I have no idea for sure what I'm talking about so it might just work great.

I don't like PB&J.

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2006/10/11 07:45
