At some point I want the Dyna too. Curious - is the Speedstar module's curve similar to 36A on Dyna?
Is it safe to go above 5,500 RPM's?
I have the speedstar, I got it because it's not adjustable, less things to go haywire..it does up the rpm to 5500, so like Steven said, you need to be aware when you hit the top, don't hold it there long.. I had a rev master before that, and it was 5500 also, and worked well, I changed out for the check engine light issue I had when the hsr carb is on it...

OK, Can anyone tell me if the Passing Lamps work without having to modify wiring. I had the Speedstar and my Passing lights wouldn't work on my 05 Silverado. I like the extra revs that the Dyna 3000 gives but don't want to get into the wiring..

The Dyna3000 is ignition and has nothing to do with the electrical system for the rest of the bike.

For the 05 and newer I'm pretty sure you just need to run a wire to ground to get your passing lamps to work when you install the 3000.

I installed the Dyna 3000 3 days ago. After some research, I decided to set it to 34A, 5000 rev limiter and after a quick call to Dyna - they said the Retard timing settings didn't affect the Road Star module (I left both dip switches on -- as it shipped). We immediately set off for Sturgis - outrunning a rainstorm none-the-less. So, I had no test ride. Well, 856 miles and 3 days later - I should say I'm thrilled with how the bike is runnin. I don't believe my mileage was affected too much either, highway anyway, who knows zippin around town, I still like to get on it a little. But, response and power are great. The bike is runnin awesome.
Also, I ordered my Dyna 3000 from Phat Performance. I paid the extra dough for Fed Ex overnight. They got it too me, and even though Fed Ex was spendy on the overnight, dealing with Phat was great. Their email response was great as well.

the passing lamps on 05 and newer Silverados are on a separate circuit with a relay and only come on when the engine is running ..it is tied to the ignition...
So the passing lamps wont work with the Dyna 3000...

Here's the info on it from cruiser customizing website.
Note for '05 Roadstars:
There is an issue with the 2005 model Roadstars equipped with the auxiliary driving lights/ passing lamps (eg; Silverado). When the Dyna 3000 is installed this lighting circuit is disabled. Apparently there is a relay that is controlled by the ignition control module that operates these lights. This is not supported in the current Dyna 3000 and there are no plans to re-design the Dyna 3000 ignition at this time. If you wish to use the Dyna 3000 on a 2005 model Roadstar with this lighting setup you will need to install a switch on one of the wires from the ignition module.
Remove the white wire with the black stripe from the stock 6 pin connector. Connect this wire to one terminal on your switch. Connect the other terminal on your switch to a good ground point like the frame, engine cases or battery negative post.
Other than this lighting issue the D3K7-3 will operate perfectly on the 2005 model Roadstar.

Installing another switch???
Sounds like the best solution is to wire the lamps the old way...
Clip the white plug and wire to the blue running light wire or the Hi or Low headlight wire ...

OK. I'm slow...the Dyna 3000 will kill the driving lights UNLESS I connect the wires to another power source. I have an 07 Silverado.
