Re:Most Comfortable Seat 7 Years, 6 Months ago
I had to sort this part out..kinda like lint on a persons back you just can't help but do something about..

"I think Looney will be glad that my friend has decided he likes mine better"

Looney no longer has the seat business.. Ray G. has it.. one hell of a super great guy.. Ray has worked hard to protect the seat name and distance it from Looney the person.. so I just thought I'd mention that..

BTW.. I have the very first revised seat that Ray put our after getting the business.. I wouldn't trade it for all the tea in china.. but a few grand now.. LOL.. nope.. it's mine.. won't ever give it up.. it fits me a$$ PERFECT!!!

Let me sort it out too then. I have no idea who Looney is and really don't care too based on some of the posts I have seen. The company is Looney Custom Seats, thus the reference to Looney. Nothing more. I don't think there was/is any need to sort out my comment but if it made you feel better to get the lint off, what ever.

Wasn't trying to ruffle feathers or anything.. was just trying to let you know the person that made your seat.. one hell of a great guy.. if you ever met him, you would probably do as I did, and give him the credit for a fine product.. and not Looney.. it's just a brand name any more.. not associated with the Looney person..

And I was also seconding what you said.. as far as I'm concerned, and my rear.. you can't buy a more comfortable seat.. and I have to give my Kudo's to Ray for perfecting it...

Re:Most Comfortable Seat 7 Years, 6 Months ago
I just installed my mustang seat this evening after adding Baron's risers and Kuryakyn ergo tour iso wings. It's like riding down the highway in my recliner! I guess the next thing I'll need is a remote control so I feel at home.

Take care,
Lynn

Re:Most Comfortable Seat 7 Years, 6 Months ago
Hi I purchased Mustang without backrest. Ive been riding it for about 2 1/2 years now. I like the seat but find that as with most of new seats they are made for people with bigger behinds than mine. I had the scoot forward problem also, but managed to cure that with pullback risers. Then I made my own backrest following tech articles in clinic. Also purchased sheepskin seat cover and that really helped me stay in saddle longer without the normal numbass. My own conclusion on seats is that there is no best seat, as it depends entirely upon your height, weight and preferences. Talking with old friends we agreed that all around, the best seats we have ever rode were the stock seats on the old 750 hondas and 900 kawasakis. They allowed you to move forward or back and to change riding positions without sliding you back to a riding pocket.

Spent many an hour in the saddle of a CB1100F with a stock seat (circumference of the US with no freeways on one trip) ... yep, miss it. You said you had the scoot forward problem that you fixed with "pull back" risers? That sounds like it would make you even more cramped ... am I just not reading it right?

Actually you are correct. The problem I had was the Mustang puts me lower and forward. I was like upper body leaning back so finger tips were only on grips. The pullbacks put the grips back into my hands again. Now the back rest really feels good on a long ride. I havnt taken any long trips without the backrest but would probably lean back ever further without it. But I really love the look of the risers.

Just wondering, do you use highway bars? I have stock seat, and bars are too far forward.
Gotta get me some Lindby's. I hate that those giant cages are the only thing I have found that work.

Re:Most Comfortable Seat 7 Years, 6 Months ago
No, but I really want to. I found a straigt bar type with fold up pegs that I really like. They cost around 119.00 for the Roadstar. My problem is that every time I order something for my bike I have to do the same to the wifes. Ive had to make a priority list and then save my nickles for 2 of everything. It kinda sucks but at least I dont have to fight her every time I get something.
