I would be easier if you read the Tech Tips articles on how the carb operates.

There are three ciruits and they all interact somewhat. Each one can be 'leaned out'. The trick is getting the optimum setting for each circuit.

We wouldn't want you to get too smart as then you may become a 'smart ass'.

Ya' know, after reading that article, I think I am smart enough to realize that the dealer probably did not jet the bike correctly. Right after I got it, I had a set of Cobras and a jet kit installed. That is when the gas milage went to hell. Sounds like a phone call to the service department is in order.
