Vance & Hines Long Shots 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Anyone running Vance & Hines Longshot or Short Shots. Thinking of switching pipes and I'm kinda of in a dilemma. I'm having a hard time deciding if I should go with the VH's or the HK's. I have always valued your opionions so any input will help. I'm looking for that deep crisp rumble, (The true motorcycle sound). Alot of pipes out there are loud, but they sound as is they were being echoed though a 55 gallon metal drum, if that makes any sense at all. PS. My bike is a 2007 Road* Midnight with a aftermarket Pro R Hypercharger.

Thanks,
Nick-

Sound is a personal taste. Can't help with the V&H pipes.
I really like the sound of my BUB Big Willy's. They are just the right sound (for me, anyway).

I love the sound of my V&H Longshots... I like 'em a lot. A buddy of mine has a 2005 R* with the factory pipes on it, and it sounds like a Goldwing. Meh... Yuck.

The Longshots are throaty, rumbly, and loud!

I have some friends who have roadstars and one has HK and the another has V&H's long shots. We all pretty much agree that the HK's sound better including James who has the V&H's. I agree with Fire ResQ that it's a matter of taste and in the interest of fairness, one of us thinks the V&H's sound better.

In my opinion they both sound similar as far as a low base or rumble but the HK's produce what I would call a softer less metalic sound. Maybe like that fifty five gallon drum with a few pillows in it or a little less raw. Just my two cents.

They are, but I'm just wanting to change the look up. Just think I would like the long straights better. Who knows, it's kinda like a haircutt, it will grow back.. LOL
