Shouldn't be because both exhausts have 1 3/4 inner pipes just the outter shields are bigger and more for appearance...a beefier looking exhaust

if ya want a softer sound get the 3" HK res techs

Nick-
so did yall work out a trade, or are you wanting to go the sell outright way? I have been in the same debate as you are in, the HK, the V&H or the CurveDD...and I think I am going the CurveDD.

So if you are still trying to sell yours, let me know specifics. My GF wants to buy me an exhaust for my B-Day

Condition?
how old?
etc etc

I found a set new in box on ebay for $485so we would have to beat that price...but its an option.

I purchased the pipes brand new in April 08 when I bought my bike. I have put about 1800 miles on the bike since April. They do not have any scratches and still look brand new. I was asking $450 for them. I dont think that I am going to trade him because I am still stuck on the VH's. Let me email him back and see where we are at, because he had mentioned something about buying them if I did not want to trade. Where are you located so that I can figure in shipping if you do buy them.

I have the HK 3" big straights on mine (see it on my sig pic). They are loud with baffles in. Only problem, I've had the pipes for about 4 years and they have a crack in them that formed a few months ago; 'course its been 4 years. I'm not the only one to experience this problem. There are others. Apparently bad mount points cause stress over time.

I am running the Vance and Hines, Longshots HS. They do have a throaty roar about them, with the baffles in, I wouldn't want to run them without baffles because my neighbors would probably run me out of the neighborhood. I have ran them with stock baffles and with the quiet baffles. I really prefer the quiet baffles, since you still get the low end rumble without any of the high pitched popping when decelerating.

Re:Vance & Hines Long Shots 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I have had several sets of exhaust on my 05 roadstar silverado. Of all the sets that I have had my bike didn't seem to like the longshots. On hot summer days with the vance and hines longshots the bike ran to rich and would flood out (3 times). Very embarrassing to push your bike around while doing a march of dimes bikers for babies ride. All other exhaust have never given me the slightest bit of trouble. I ran them with baffles and they were not nearly loud enough for me, but that just my opinion.

I have the Longshot HS with the stock baffles and I love the sound. Have thought about pulling he baffles but tI have not removed the AIS yet and don't want to deal with the popping. Only draw back is they cover the fill for the gearbox.

I run the Longshots with nothing in between ..... Ya their loud and sound great on the highway and all you need to do is open the throttle a little and you'll get the attention of someone next to you. As for the start out in early mornings, I just don't get on it in the neighborhood and so far they have no complaints. I keep asking!
