Kuryakyn Hyperchargers 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago

Okay, can anyone help me out here.....
Why are hyperchargers for the Road* (specifically) more expensive than for EVERY other make/model out there?
Are there any hyperchargers out there that will work for the roadstar that say it's for another model(I hope I'm explaining myself clearly )
They all look identical for different bikes...standard, pro, & pro-R.
The reason I ask; eBay has them out there at $150 and up for any other model bike, but the *'s are no less than $250 and up!~

I don't have a verified answer, but my thoughts on the matter are that the price is linked to market portion. Basically, there could be a narrower market for RoadStar hyperchargers than the others hence they charge more. I can't think it's materials, but I do see what you're talking about for cost. I picked mine up second hand and still paid $200 for it.

You guys are so lucky hyperchargers here in Australia are around $600.00. Luckily I bought mine of ebay from the US for $260.00 delivered. I am keen to get white walls as well but that is another story.

Spiro,
My son will be going to Australia on a people to people trip. He will be 11 yrs old when he goes on the trip next summer, and my wife is fraking out. Tell me something I can pass on to her that will ease her anxiety about this trip. I have heard how safe your country is to foreigners, is this also true for Americans?
Thanks
Shawn

I have an 07 Roadie and wanted the Pro-R. Yes I paid dearly for it. Luckily all my kids are grown up and now it's my time to play with the "extra" money. I kept hearing (reading?) about the hyperchargers not taking kindly to the rain. I no longer believe that talk. I live in Houston, Tx and went to Havelock, North Carolina for the 4th of July week. I hit to very hard rain storms on the way back, one just outside Atlanta, Ga. and another just outside Birmingham, Alabama. Not once did the Hyper Charger give a hint it was taking in water. I have rode in the rain BEFORE I had my Buck Lowers put on so it's not the Lowers that prevent the water from entering the HC. Now keep in mind, it DOES stick out farther than other after market air cleaners, but for me I don't mind. I get complements on the looks of it combined with the Bub Jug Huggers, especially at night when I turn on the light kit. For me.... it was worth every penny. Hope this helps.

Hi Slezy, to answer your question it is great riding over here most the year around. Especially the further north you go. But there are plenty of great riding in all states. I have lived in most states with work and have always enjoyed my riding, especially in Perth (Western Australia) and the Gold Coast (Queensland. The roads aren't as good as the States but there is plenty of changes in scenery to make up for it. Below: pic of a typical road back home, taken by my 12 year old daughter, so sorry about the quality.

Hi Shawn,
Oz is an excellent place to visit and very safe for kids. Like anywhere we have our minority of idiots who commit crimes etc but on a whole it is a safe place. People here love Yanks and like no better than to pull the piss out of them (make fun). Make sure he packs some swimmers as it gets very hot here depending on which State he goes to and sunnies because our beaches are fantastic and the girls even sweeter . We are a sports mad nation so hopefully the people he stays with keep him occupied. Anyway I can go on so tell your wife to rest assured Australia is safe as houses. Cheers, your Oz Ambassador.
