Also, It's not just bikes, try and sell anything these days, and your gonna get beat up on the asking price...Most folks are making do with what they have, and only buying necessities..which have gone up in price while at the same time their income has remained stagnant...

Now if your fortunate enough to have some extra cash laying around, their are a lot of good deals out there..

I figure if a guy walks away feeling happy with the product he bought and the price he paid, then what others think really doesn't matter. If you're happy, I think you got a great deal. By those standards, I got a steal when I bought my bike last year!

I spent 23 years in the car business and I can tell you that last post is dead on. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a customer drive out with a car he purchased below dealer cost because the dealer needed to get it off his inventory - yet the customer was convinced the dealer had still made thousands off him. Conversely, some of the happiest owners you see out there are folks who walk in and pay sticker price. Beats the heck out of me how that works.

But back on topic - yeah - there are some real bargains out there. Lots of folks are scaling back on seasonal toys - wave runners - power boats - bikes - etc. Just do your homework and make sure you aren't buying somebody else's problems.

SMGray, if I would have found this deal 3 months ago, I'd have drove to Michigan for your bike! I agree the market is weak right now...but your deal is sweet, you just haven't found your buyer....that's all. I'm sure that in the spring you could get more than what you're asking for via eBay or a smililar route.

Got my 2002 Roadie for $7K, with a $150 helmet thrown in, and a new battery. Altogether, when it was all said and done, it was.. $9500 out the door.

I bought a leftover 04 in August of 04 for a little over $10K ($1000 discount). I have been very happy with it, and I feel like I got a fairly good deal. At least they are't selling for LESS than that now

Now if only the price of chrome would go down with the price of the bikes

I bought a new 2004 1700 with 0 miles, never been run at the bike show last winter. $4000.00 less than an 2007 but I still didn't get the deal you guys in the states get.
