Brakes 3 Months, 1 Week ago
hi all, I have a r* 2008 silverado S with 1700 miles. When i hit bad roads there is a noise from the front end, but whn i tap the front brake the noise is gone. My question is do the front pads on the r* always make noise? Thanks all fr your help.

Mine don't. Sounds like you might want to get back with the dealer on that or just look for something loose. These girls do shake a bit and things loosen up sometimes. But, then again, don't we all love a loose girl now and then?

my front brake calipers make a noise ..when moving the steering back and forth...

this dissappears when I pull on the front brake..

the pads are held in place by a large clip.... the clip moves on a cross pin causing some noise...a slight tapping sound....

push on the clip and it will move slightly but as soon as you put on the brakes the pistons tighten up on the pads and the movement disappears...

I've got an 08 too... and I've been noticing it sounds like the pads don't really fully retract after braking, at least not right away. One of the things on the list for the dealer to check out this weekend when I go pay a visit. As for rattle I haven't noticed anything like that from the brakes. Good luck!
