bad vibes 3 Months, 1 Week ago
got handlebar shake at 25 mph in 2nd gear.steering nut?only got a little over 1300 miles on the bike and from what i've been reading seems like alot of little things are wrong with these bikes that the owners have to fix themselves.i've he the tank rattle also(thanks to the forum i know what it is)and it kinda ticks me off this is suposed to be a new bike.have had carb problems from the day i got it also.i really am glad for this sit for all the info but getting really mad for buying a bike i will end up fixing factory messups the rest of the time i have it.the bad thing is my 650 classic didnt have a bit of problems just to small forme.well anyway i hope its just the steering nut we will see.thanks louie.

louie I've had no problems with my '07 in the year I've had it. If your bike's under warranty, I'd make the stealership fix the various problems you're having. Just my 2 cents.

Edit: Also make sure your tire pressure is where it should be, if you haven't checked already.

Pick any make and model of bike. Find a forum for it. And I will bet you will have people just like us talking about problems just like us. But there isn't anything saying you have to like the Roadie. I can say the only problems I have had with mine were caused by me with not being able to leave things alone.

I just had my first issue with steering wobble, but it was the head bearings, easy fix. good luck and hang in there.

My "tank rattle" turned out to be rocks picked up by the tire bouncing around between the tire and fender at low speed.
Altho it's the easiest bike I've ever worked on, all the work that I've done were things to make it "mine".

Like PappaTom, the first thing I'd do is check the air pressure in the tires.

Only complaint I have about my Roadie is that it's so cold natured. I guess thats just the nature of the bike. ( I wonder if the fuel injected model is that way too?!? )

Anyway..... I love my Roadie.

19,000 miles and going strong!

louie, I understand. Happens to new cars, bikes, etc. BTW, if your pipes were installed by the dealership, there's a good chance they re-jetted your carb also, which doesn't usually need to be done with just pipes (common thing dealerships feel compelled to do for some reason). That could possibly perhaps maybe be part of the problem. Just a thought.
