05 vs 07 Roadstar ??????? 3 Months ago  
Have a good friend who is looking for a bike and I am trying to talk him into a R* two in particular an 05 and an 07 both new and only $500.00 difference asking prices. want to know opinions on them one year better that the other or any issues need to know of either? Thanks guys, Fifty Yet

Not certain on this, but I believe I have read that the 04 and 05 are more prone to svs, and a re design in the head after 05 may have helped to cure the problem. but beyond that, I think the 07 would bring more than 5 bills in resale.

the asking price on the 05 is 8999.00 and the 07 is 9499.00 seems like a no brainer to me. Fifty Yet

SVS = Sticky Valve Syndrome. When the rear jug exhaust valve carbons up, causing loss of power, etc., from running too rich, lugging the motor, etc.

Mines an 2000 titled in 2001. If I had to decide between an 05 and a 07 the 07 would be sitting in my garage right now. In fact, I would buy the 07 and ride it around the 05.....lol.
Not that you ask for my option....lol

papa tom, thanks.any worning signs/ cures,or is removal /cleaning the only cure. i've got an 04 R* was this a bad year?
