which bike (dont be biased please) 3 Months ago
okay ive saved money for the last 2.5-3 years to buy a bike, i think sept 9th will be the day i do so,heres my dilema(sp)

i really really like 2 bikes in particular, and have narrowed that down from about 1000.

my 2 option are a 2007 road king
or
2008 road star s.

i feel like i like both the bikes the same, they both feel good, they both look d$mn good, which would you pick and why please.

-DAN

p.s this wwill be the very first bike ive ever owned, and it is gonna be one or the other of these 2.i want to buy a motorcycle, not a stereotype ya know?

dad's got a road king, it is a good bike, drives well, handles good although a little top heavy, it is when you stop that it will kill you, maybe weights in the handlebars might help, but they will shake your fillings loose, my * HANDLES BETTER, dont shake, and runs and sounds as good if not better for around 5 - 8 k less, moho

pretty good question and a common one.

I have a 2006R* and love every bit of it, but that doesn't matter. Whatever bike you buy you will love unless you have problems and get frustrated....just like getting married.

They are both good looking bikes but they do notI rented a Road King last year in Myrtle Beach for a day. Personnaly I was disappointed with the comparison. They are not the same in many ways. I was very pleased that I but one one I did.

I can't comment on the 2008 because I've never rode one and there are changes, some of which I don't like.....like F.I. If you want something that resembles a Road King you should stick to 2007 or older, you'll also save $$$

good luk, I sure you'll get allot of comments.

IMHO bushr

Whatever floats your boat Fulgoar... Maybe some day I will get a Road King...but fo rthe extra money... maybe not. I really have always loved the looks of them, but I have to say that I love this Road Star that I have and it is paid for.

I really could not justify the extra cash for the harley either... something seems wrong with paying that much more just to say you ride a Harley... IMO.

This one is easy........buy the one YOU really want. They are both fantastic bikes.....though we are a little partial here.....

The Roadie is a bigger bike , and the power is probably slightly better stock. I'm big , size mattered to me. $$ too. I like all bikes , but my budget can only stretch so far.

I've never owned a Harley , but my best bud had several. The Road King (TC88) he had was my favorite. But it was too small for my large self.

Both will have their pro's/con's , but the bottom line is this , if you get the one , but really wanted the other , you won't be happy. Enjoy your new ride , regardless of the brand. BB

Well, I am new to this forum. I had the same question on my mind. I rode both bikes and I bought a new roadie silverado. It is all a matter of personal preferance I live 30 miles away from the famous Sturgis MC Ralley here in sd, so a harley was a shoe in. You cannot go wrong with the road star. Thats what i weighed the options with and I have no regrets. I must say I am not new to bikes this is my first big bike and I love it!!!
