I've been able to get out of the house here the last couple days, so I am willing to bet I have the cleanest R* here. Going to try and turn a wrench or two on the bike as best I can while I am out of order and get some things added I have been wanting.

As for the helmets I am not familiar with that brand but I will look into them.

I agree..... some of my group calls mine the grape ape among other things, but I dont mind, the look on there face when we are at bike night and everyone is checking out my bike over their harley is priceless.... its not what you ride, its how you personalize.

Big J
Grape Ape is perfect. Your bike is purple with Ape Hangers. Like all have said glad your still around to ride. But I have one question for you? Did you learn anything from the accident and how you might change your riding?? Please I'm not trying to be an ass here but this type of accident is what takes out a major portion of riders. Since I have gone down at 65 mph I know I learned a valuable lesson after my accident back in 1985! Others can read your reply and learn from what happened to you and how you think this might or might not have been avoided!

Big_J glad you are on the mind hope your back in the saddle soon. Four of us went on a 265 miler last Sunday in the back roads here. Lots of twisters and fun 2 lane roads. About half way thru I got tired of the guy in front of me slowing down and hitting the breaks on every curve so I moved up behind the leader that really rides good. We were layin em over in the curves and having a ball. Then we came up on a wagon being pulled by two mules and another one in tow. We rode behind for a ways till we had clear straight road to pass Bo the leader passed and I started to pass slow so as not to spook the mules with my pipes. Next thing I know here is a full grown collie right in front of me that had run out from a house on the side of the road. I locked the breaks up and the backend started to come around so I let off and swerved to miss the dog. I hit the dog a glancing blow and Bo said all he saw was a cloud of dust, Leo said I spun him around like a top and when I got stopped and looked he was running on three legs back to house yelping. A woman and her daughter came out and I turned around and went back she said that is was all right to go ahead and when I looked there was a sheriffs car in the drive way. Leave to me to run over the sheriffs dog. The old man on the wagon just shook his head when I went past and smiled. The bike wasn’t hurt so we went on and had a really nice ride the rest .of the way. Ya just never know what will happen next.
