need some help!!! 3 Months ago
hey guy's (own 03 roastar)

really having big problems on finding the right seat! had the 2-peice touring mustang seat on my bike from new (was ok) then the problems started. sold the mustang seat for the ultimate seat(i guess i was leaning to much forward started to get pain where you shouldn't get it!
returned the seat / orderd the cobin seat same proplem (sold that one)
reordered the 2-peice mustang seat (still have the pain!) also had to send it back. i talked to alex @ mustang seat he is telling me i should be using the mustang seat plus start looking at handlebar placement (maybe im leaning over to far cousing the pain!). this is really starting to take the fun out of riding. does anybody have a 2-peice mustang seat w/o backrest that your not using? i would pay for shipping both ways just to see if i can correct this problem-before reordering again!!

anyother idea's

thanks

Handle bars will make a big difference. You need a bar that pulls back far enough to allow you to sit up straight or slightly back. For me I ended up with the Burly Beach Bars. If you can get someone to help you,you need to place a straight edge across your risers. It needs to stick out quite a ways on each side. You need to sit on your bike with your back straight or slightly leaned back and then put your arms out to where they would just reach the handle bars and at a height comfortable to you. Then your helper needs to measure between the straight edge and your hands so that you can get an idea of how much pull back & how much rise you need. Then go looking for a set of handle bars which match your approximate measurements.

I agree, the risers might be your salvation on this. I have the original seat on my Roadie, but just installed the medium Yamaha risers. Solved all my problems with comfort. Got the bars back and up a little right where I needed them to be.

I went and got a set of 4 inch pull back and 3 inch lift on my risers and still kept the stock cables, any more than that and you will probably need longer cables.
It was a life saver for me, I think I got them from Barons if I remember, they weren't cheap but my god did they make the bike better to ride.
I have made several trips to Missouri non stop from Pittsburgh if that tells you anything.

I have the Ultimate seat set and have the Yami medium risers with stock bars and it solves the problem. You just need the bars pulled back more like every one says. If you go to much like everyones says you will need cables and break line increased in length.
