Bike too Low 3 Months ago
My 04 Roadstar Silverado is much too low..... looks great... rides great... just bottoms out when riding double.... sometimes single. Local Dealer said all looked stock underneath and I needed new Shock $535.00 did not help. Have only 3.5" of ground clearance. Would shortning or lengthening the Dog BOnes raise the rear end of this Bike?

How big are you? Did you crank up the preload on the rear spring? There are stiffer springs available too.

Yes we did adjust the spring..... I am about 175 wet... my Wife ia abour 115 lbs..... would making the spring stiffer not make it ride ruff? The SM calls for 5.5" ground Clearance.... noticed several Silverado's low like mine... some not....

Yes I bought it used, however the Dealer said it all looked stock. Noticed on one Blog that the Donut could be turned around backwards to lower the unit....I will try a stiffer spring.... just wish I had not used the dealer... he just guessed and it cost me over $500 bucks for nothing.

Re:Bike too Low 3 Months ago
I suspect the previous owner may have ground the relay arm and the dealer did not pick up on it.

You can easily check if the bike is lowered by looking at the profile. At stock height the backbone and the swing arm line up in a straight line. If it's lowered, the swing arm and backbone are a shallow V shape ... in other words the back of the swing arm is higher than the straight line drawn throught the backbone.

Tommyt take a look at this tech article and and see if this has been done to your bike if it has you can undo the lowering buy just unflipping it.
