Cleaning Metzler ME880 Wide White Walls 5 Years, 6 Months ago
I have a brand new set of Metzler ME880 Wide White Walls on my bike.

They were snow white when i put them on about 2 weeks ago.

The bike has been ridden once and garage kept since then.

I am noticing a little yellowing or golding where the White Wall meets the Black of the tire the rest is pretty white.

Is this normal or do they need to be cleaned?

Please leave tips on cleaning the White Walls.

Thanks, John

white walls and yer saying good ol fashioned SOS pads are the best???

I've tried all kinds of snake oil but water and SOS pads are my favourite
New tires tend to bleed ..ya just need a good cleaning..

Thanks to both of you for the quick response.

Now when you say SOS pad is it the sponge w/ the sponge on one side and the rough on the other or the brillo?

What do they look like and what does the package look like?

Do your guys get a little yello or goldish where the whit meets the black?

Steel wool pads loaded with an ajax type cleanser
hence Soap On Steel
just try it... or use comet or ajax with water on a piece of rag<br><br>Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2006/11/04 08:30

I get the yellowing also after a couple weeks. Their right jeep, S.O.S. is the best. If I have a real tuff job, like the rear tire, right side. I spray it with Wesleys bleach white , (or whatever it's called).. then hit it with an S.O.S. pad. Makes my 7k tires look brand new.

Not to sound stupid but what does the SOS pad or box it comes in look like?

Now a days they have about 10 different styles.
