Driving Lights Fall Off UPDATE 3 Months ago
Just spoke with Matthew @ Yamaha Cuctomer Service regarding my light bar falling off and he informed me that Yamaha would send me a new one at no cost to me. I thought it was interesting that he said one reason this happens is because people are putting aftermarket pipes on their bikes and the added vibration from these pipes is causing the welds to break. It made me curious how many of you out there that have had this happen to you, have aftermarket pipes on your bike. Or is Yamaha looking for a scape goat. Although I can't complain they are taking care of me on this. For that I am thankful. This is my first time dealing with the Customer Service Dept. and I would have to say that I am pleased with the results.

Exactly same thing happened to me and they gave me the same story my aftermarket pipes caused "harmonic vibrations" which caused the welds to crack.... I've been a welder for 15years and looking at mine thats BS. The new one they sent me had more weld on it and they welded the inside too. Hmmmmmm

Mine was also welded one only one side I think I am going to get the old one rewelded correctly and rechromed for a spare in case this happens again.

This has happened to me as well twice. Once the light weld broke second time the main weld broke and the entire light bar was hanging. They sent me another and it to had more welds. Hope this is a stronger bar.

Hopefully, I got the new batch. I've had mine on since April and over 3500 miles on it with no problems so far, other than my dealer knocking one of the lamps loose.
