you own one, you should know. Does it start? Look for leaks. Does it feel solid. Strange noises. Look taken care of? This bike has hardly any miles considering its 4 years old. Check tires, belt, look for scratches or dents that may indicate if the bike has been dropped. Brake's should be good still, but the brake fluid may need to be changed. If its turning yellow or brown, it does. The forks may need to drained too and the steering repacked. How's the price? Will they let you take it for a spin?
Don't care for the paint job, but if the price is right I might not mind Is that a looney seat? Sure doesn't look comfy. 3 sets of pipes? Hope he doesn't consider the stock set as the other 2

How much? Just wondering.
'04 was the first year of the 1700cc motor, and some say it's prone to the dreaded SVS, but mine is an '04 and nothing going on with that (knock on wood).
Mine runs like a top so no complaints from me.
Can't say I can get into the color scheme he picked for that bike, but to each their own. Depending on just how good a deal it was there would be a paint job in my future.

That sure is a different looking bike. Low miles or not, if your not into that particular look its going to set you back a bit making it yours. Seems like a lot has already been changed on that.
Might want to think about that. As already noted, if you own one, you know what to look for, but that bike sure wouldn't be for me, low miles or not.

Do a little homework on bikes this new that look this way............... Has it been wrecked and this is the result of a cobbled repair? Don't be afraid to ask questions , it is your $$ after all. BB

No way I'd give $7,200, and prob. not $6,000. Tell your bud to be patient and look for a better deal.

I'd check ebay and see what bikes are going for. Remember to compare similar model years, trim levels and mileage when looking.
I paid $7K for mine and that included the Yamaha hard bags with 1280 miles on it. I'm with BB on the appearance. I'd be looking for signs of a rebuild. Maybe it has a salvage title? The appearance would throw up flags for me. But like I said, maybe the current owner liked the look and that's the end of it. Who knows?
EDIT: Here's an '04 on ebay. Right now it's going for $5,495. I will surely get bid up a bit, but it's a no reserve auction with only 18 hours left.
If you look at the bike, which one would you pay around $6,000 for? No contest for me. Even considering considering a shipping cost of between $300-500 to get it from AZ. I'd go with the ebay bike.
