Marvel Mystery Oil 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago
I just tracked down some MMO and will begin using it every second tank or so. Also for winterization as Musky advised in previous threads. Reading the directions, as men are not wont to do, I noticed that they recommend putting it in your crankcase as well. I'm assuming this recommendation is not for Road Stars with wet clutches. Or has anyone added this stuff to the engine oil as well as the fuel tank? I'm captivated by the product's promise of producing ". . . a highly polished, wear-resistant finish on engine surfaces which helps maintain 'newness' of motors." It's the first time I've seen a fuel additive that claims to work in the crankcase too.
thanks,
woody

I put 2oz. in about every other full tank. I can't tell any difference in how it runs when it's in or if I'm on a take without it. I use it as a preventative measure. Having an '04 I feel better using it anyway whether it actually does any good or not. At least it doesn't do any harm.

If I was going to put anything in my tank with the gas, it would be Seafoam. That stuff is amazing, you can add a tad of that to your oil too.
As far as weinterization, do you know they sell cold suits for riding in that?

Well, it says to add the entire bottle to the crankcase, as long as you don't overfill the oil level. It is a 28 oz (946ml) bottle and they are talking car crankcase, of course. They claim it will prevent gum, sludge, and varnish - improves viscosity and protects hydraulic valve lifters. Especially recommended for new or rebuilt engines to keep them new. It all sounds so good! If it didn't come with the caveat "DO NOT SWALLOW" I would be tempted to use it for my own internal moving parts. Sounds like Marvellous, Mysterious stuff, all right. Anyway, I won't add it to my engine oil just yet. Just doesn't seem like a good idea.
best

I get my Sea Foam at Advanced Auto, it comes in a white can with light red lettering on it. I'll go and take a picture of the can, its all I use. I was turned on to it years ago as an additive to gas for storing over the winter, a little in the gas and what ever you put it in will start up two years from now. I don't know how it does it, I don't care. I know the stuff is amazing.
I put it in the can that I fill all my stuff from, I don't use it in two stroke but I guess you could.
