Re:car tires? 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
My bike is lowered and I can't do any hard angle's any way.

True....I wouldn't consider it for going a lap or two around Road Atlanta, but for a lowered cruiser, why not?

I guess my biggest question would be "why on earth would you want to put a CT on a bike?" Yikes, that just sounds like an accident waiting to happen........

Because theoretically, you can get 4-6 times more life out of a car tire than a motorcycle tire. $$$

Some people willtry anything to save a buck, including risking their life putting car tires on bikes!
If want a CHEAP hobby, get rid of the bike and buy a bicycle.
Motorcycling is not a CHEAP sport, it's all about FUN, and spending money on chrome and goodies.

Car tires on a bike????......... Not for me.
That's kinda like playing slot machines and sticking in OYSTERS instead of COINS! It don't work real well!

I know it's not leaning, but would a MC stand up to this?

Why are they risking their life if it's a better handling, better overall tire as many that ride them say they are? Or was that just an uninformed opinion? Hmmmm?

Ask the guys that died doing that. Oh, that's right, you can't.

Seriously, I don't know. It sounds interesting and agree if others are doing it with no adverse affects, perhaps its worth investigating. Open minds...

One of my 880s developed a bubble in the tire. I know I'm not the only one to experience this. To me a quality car tire wouldn't do this.

Re:car tires? 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Guys I work in the Car Tire Industry and believe a car tire will out preform a Motorcycle tire in load and cornering stress. However with that said we need to also consider the Motorcycle rim. The test preformed on load and cornering is extreme in this video and shows a pretty stout tire but its also mounted on a Car rim. Under only the most extreme conditions would we be able in real life to put a tire of any type to this kind of load on a Motorcycle and my nerve would run out long before my tire. But things happen. I think the dark siders are on to something here but I think I'll wait and see only because the bead rim height may be different

I read in a thread a while back that the rim beads were the same, I guess I would have to physically see the difference myself.

I think I might try it. It'll be a little while, have to do research and I'll give an update.

I think I'd like to see the difference myself but have to admit I think with the right tire, something thats not got a directional tread this may be the best of both worlds
