Lovin' those compliments 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
|
|
|
Filled the tank this morning, and after starting Babe and getting properly seated, I heard someone behind me say, "What size bike is that?" I turned around and a fella had walked over from his pick-em-up truck. He mentioned how he'd been looking into getting another Harley but the prices were ridiculous, and he'd been doing some online studying of the Roadies, impressed with what he'd read. He said they seem to be pretty bullet-proof. He checked out the pipes, risers, the chrome and bags and told me it was a great looking bike.
I'm only bringing this up because it's the first time a non-family member was kind enough to comment on my scoot to my face. Then, just before pressing the start button, I said a quick prayer to please let my bike start, and it did. Whew.

You wouldn't want to have a Frank moment, smiling at the man, hit the start switch and get engulfed in a cloud of smoke as the bike VOMITED oil onto the pipes...
That still cracks me up

I agree, it IS nice to get compliments from people on the bike, though. Harley riders are usually impressed, which is always nice.

I have hardly a day goes by that when I come out of Walmart and get ready to take off someone doesn't walk by and say "nice bike."
For that matter, wherever I go, often someone will remark on my scooter.... It's pretty much stock yet with the various add-ons and the old school look it seems to draw attention..... A lot like an old Buick lets say.

Yep. Of all the Japanese attempts at turning out a cruiser with classic lines, I think the Roadies are far and away the best lookin' bikes out there.

Yep, I get a lot of compliments on the bike, from riders and non-riders, old and young, male and female, and even the HD guys. Still tickles me when someone says, "Nice looking Harley.

I get compliments all the time on my R* especially at work guys come in and are like WOW nice Harley! I mention it's not a Harley it's better My favorite is I was at a charity ride/poker run and pulled up to one of the stops with several friends (all yamaha bikes) and this guy and his 10year old kid walk by the line of Harleys and metric bikes and this kid runs up to my bike and says WOW! Dad check out this awesome bike starts pointing out chrome and pipes and how cool it looks then he reads the Yamaha logo on the cam cover and says oh its just a piece of $h*t jap bike I said to the Dad you have a Harley? he say no I don't ride their too expensive
Got to love it.
