A brilliantly stupid thought 3 Years, 8 Months ago
I was thinking about how many times this past year the questions of what kind of pipes to get has been asked. Hundreds? Millions? Anyway, I thought how helpful it would be for the clinic to have a library of sounds for each pipe we have on our Roadies for others to listen to, since we're rarely around so many other R* scoots. Then the brilliance ended.

Here's the stupid part: We could have Doc or Gram or Musky or Flashback or TMK or RoadieFF or Randy or...(ran out of names) visit each of us during a year's time to record the sounds of our pipes and add them to the library. Okay, maybe we could record the sounds ourselves, but then we wouldn't get to see these fellas (yup, there was a method to my madness).

Like I said, a brilliantly stupid thought. Now we return you to our regularly scheduled program.

I think it's a great idea. If you have a laptop you could use it to record the sound of your pipes and save it as either a .wav or MP3 file and then all we'd need is a place on here to park 'em.

Of course, that's not saying that the sound of one roadie with a particular set of pipes will match that of another roadie, but it's gotta be darn close.

It would help those who keep asking "What are the best pipes to get" or "What pipes sound the best".

Pay all my travel expenses and I'd gladly tackle that project.

Somewhat "brilliantly stupid".

Unfortunately the surroundings and the time that you make the recording will affect the outcome ... not to mention the audio setup you have at your end .. do you also have your bass, treble turned up.

The first problem can only be rectified if everyone comes over and I do the recording under controlled conditions. The second is not that much of a determinate as you'll be comparing one to another.
